This past Saturday Charles and I became protesters. It was the first time either of us had attended a protest rally. When we discovered that a "March Against Monsanto" was being organized in our county, we looked at each other and said, "Let's go!"
I am very thankful that Husband and I are so compatible with our philosophy about the world. One of the philosophies that we are most passionate about is living a life close to what God and nature intended.
Monsanto is a company that is in opposition to everything we believe in, thus we joined together for a protest against them.
Above is a picture of us with our sign (Charles designed it) just before the march began.
On this Two-Of-Us Tuesday, let me encourage every couple to find a cause (or two, or more) together.
Every romantic partnership has its own unique level of philosophical compatibility. There may be seasons when a couple is more similar in their views than other times.
Regardless of your differences, focus on the beliefs that you two have in common. Find a cause you both are passionate about and get involved: attend a protest or rally, volunteer together, make a joint donation, or have a shared commitment to gently inform others.
While we were at Saturday's event, someone told us about a Monsanto protest this October, with marches being organized in cities around the world. Charles and I immediately looked at each other and said, "Let's go!"
